Abstract (EN)
The engine rooms of ships are though places to work because of their ambient conditions. Beside the factors that effect the staff health like temperature, damp, noise and vibration, these places are very risky about occupational accidents. This situation is the fact of the ship engine rooms and these risk factors should be reduced as possible. In this study, a ship engine room is modelled by a commercial CFD software. Afterwards an exhaust leakage from the ship main engine is assumed and carbon monokside contrubition which is the most hazardous gas in short period is investigated for different ventilation velocities. As a result it is discussed if the ventilation velocities are sufficient for these situations.
