Abstract (EN)

This study covers all the numbers of Zekâ journal which are printed as 34 numbers in 1912, 1913 and 1914. All publication life of it is 3 years. It was also interrupted for 16 months because of the political events occurred in that period. Zekâ is heavily philosophical and scientific journal. In our work, all parts of the journal have been studied and classification and analysis of them have been done.In order to understand the years of publication of the journal much better, the political and social events of the last period of Ottoman State has been also covered. Idea movements effecting the mentality life of that period were mentioned. Shape and content properties were studied. Directories according to writers and subjects have been generated. Information all about the broad writer staff have been given, especially about the main writers. There are some literary texts in the journal and a few of them are transcribed. At the end of the study, identification of the journal and some sample pages have been attached as annexes.Keywords: New Turkish Literature, press, journal, Zekâ, westernisation, materialism, Baha Tevfik, philosophy, science.
