Abstract (EN)
Determination of the immunostimulant effect of ginger (Zingiber officinale) additive fish diets after Aeromonas hydrophila injection on Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) was the aim of this study. Fish in the experiment group, were fed with ginger added feeds at different rates (0%, 0.1%, 0.5%, 1%) for 90 days before A. hydrophila 1.89x109 cfu/ml injection. Blood analysis were conducted 5 days later following the injection. In comparison to the control group, fish treated with ginger revealed higher concentrations in the following blood parameters: erythrocyte (2.13x106/mm3) and leukocyte (22.27x103/mm3) count the percentage of hematocrit (40.41%) and also significant increase (p<0.05) in the percentage monocyte and eosinophil was recorded according to the leukocyte cell formulations.
