Abstract (EN)
In this study, the zeolite was modified with magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles in order to increase the adsorption capacity of the zeolite and to facilitate the removal of the zeolite from the environment by providing magnetic properties. The adsorption behavior of Reactive Red 120 (RK120) which is a synthetic textile dye onto Zeolite and Fe3O4 – Zeolite was investigated. The adsorption of RK120 onto Zeolite and Fe3O4 – Zeolite was investigated by means of pH, contact time and temperature. The characterization studies were done by using XRF, XRD, SEM, FT-IR. The adsorption kinetics of RK120 on Zeolite and Fe3O4 – Zeolite were found to be compatible with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Experimental data were found to be best suited for Langmuir for Zeolite and Freundlich adsorption isotherm model for Fe3O4 – Zeolite.
