Abstract (EN)

This study was done at an olive orchard of a farmer in Orhangazi district of Bursa province in the Autumn of 2016 and the Spring of 2017. In the study, the effectiveness of copper sulphate (Bordeaux mixture) and Bacillus subtilis Strain QST 713 against olive leaf spot disease caused by Spilocaea oleagina ( Cast.) Hughes was determined. The study was done according to the rules for of Turkish Ministery of Agriculture and Forestry. Bordeaux mixture is suggested for control of olive leaf spot disease by the Ministery but the effect of Bacillus subtilis Strain QST 713 on the disease is not known. At the end of the study, the effects of Bordeaux mixture and Bacillus subtilis Strain QST 713 on the disease were determined as 63,7% and 31,4%, at the end of 2 and 5 weeks after treatment respectively, in October 2016. However, the effects of Bordeaux mixture and Bacillus subtilis Strain QST 713 on the disease were determined as 80,6% and 63,6%, at the end of 2 and 5 weeks after treatment respectively, in April 2017. It is clear that Bordeaux mixture was more effective than Bacillus subtilis Strain QST 713 in both periods. But, it may be said that the effect of Bacillus subtilis Strain QST 713 was not too bad as it was not registered for the disease in Turkey.
