Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to propose a method for creating a monolingual computerized educational lexicon for non-Arabic native speakers at the beginner level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels. The researcher used both an analytical descriptive approach and an experimental approach to establish an Educational Corpora, which aligns with computational linguistics standards and represents the language used in educational materials specifically designed for non-native speakers of Arabic at the beginner level. The researcher created a questionnaire based on the results extracted from the language Corpora and presented it to a group of experts to verify the appropriateness of the lexical units for the levels in which they were mentioned. The study yielded several results, including the identification of a list of 1878 lexical units that are the most frequently used in beginner-level texts in the curricula for teaching Arabic according to CEFR levels. The list of lexical units has been classified according to the three sub-levels (Pre-A1, A1, A2) for the beginner level and also according to the topics that learners need to study at the beginner level. This list serves as a primary reference for all learners of Arabic, as well as for professionals in the field such as teachers, curriculum designers, and test developers. Additionally, the study provides a computer-based visualization of the dictionary for the benefit of users.
