Abstract (EN)

Educational texts hold a prominent position in the literature on preparation of Pedagogical materials for non-Arabic speakers. This study sheds light on the criteria that should be considered in the texts of Arabic language learning series for non-native speakers, using the "Al-Lisān" and "Al- 'Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk" series as case studies. The research problem lies in the extent to which textual criteria, with their diverse features, are present in the beginner-level texts of these two series. This is achieved through a study of the texts in question, aiming to demonstrate the seven textual criteria: cohesion, coherence, acceptability, intentionality, informativity, situationality, and intertextuality A descriptive approach, in addition to content analysis, was adopted for this study, as it is one of the most commonly used methods in this field of research. The most important results of the study include: a high frequency of pronouns compared to other reference devices, a high frequency of the conjunction "waw" compared to other linking words in both series, greater textual diversity in the "Al-Lisān" series compared to the "Al-'Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk" series, which was limited to one text type. The scarcity of inferential questions that explore indirect meanings, such as A Textual Criteria Analysis of the "Al-Lisān" and "Al- 'Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk" Language Learning Series.
