10-12 age group social skills levels of primary school students on the effect of educational games

In this study, the effect of pedagogical games on the social skills of 10-12 age-group primary school children was studied during ten(10) weeks. I worked on two groups which were called as control group and experimental group. Students attending only Physical Education Class were named as control. Test subjects who were regularly playing at least five(5) different pedagogical games beside these lessons were called experimental. 150 students(boys and girls) of Namık Kemal Elementary School in Ankara/Elmadağ were attended to the this study. ?Social Skill Evaluation? was applied to the students as a questionnaire. The data was analyzed by SPSS (StatisticPacketsForSocialSciences) packaged software program with Average, Standart Deviation, t-Test techniques. Fourth (10 years) class test (20) and control (20) groups of test results for the front (46,300 ± 10,921 to 42,200 ± 6,469, t (38) 1444, p = 0.157 <0.05) differences were observed between, while the post-test results ( 74 050 ± 5206-47100 ± 7839, t (38) = 12 807, p = 0.000 <0.05) was found a significant difference in favor of the experimental group. As a result, students in experimental group who were playing pedagogical games besides Physical Education Class had a significant increase on their social skills when they were compared with the control group. From hence, it can be said that pedagogical games are improving social skills of children without gender differences.
