Özet (EN)

The main aim of mechanical tests is determining the strength of materials under various operating conditions. Mechanical tests that have to be applied to the materials have gained great importance with the development of material science and tensile test is one of the most important of these mechanical tests. Tension testing machine that is needed for making tensile test is being imported to our country from abroad mostly with high cost.In this study, a tensile testing machine was designed and produced with enough capacity and specifications for tension tests of low-strength plastic and composite materials at much lower cost compared to the brand-name machines. Since the testing machine will be used for low strenght plastic and composit materials, the testing machine was tested for tension tests using plastic samples prepared from three kinds of plastic. So, the testing machine was controlled whether it works as desired or not.In this study, design and production of a tension test device with a capacity of 10 kN was performed using of low-budget and mostly local resources. In this way, knowledge and finance resources are remained in our country.Key Words : Tensile Test, Mechanical Properties, Mechanical Design
