The effect of the web page designed in soil and plant topics at 10th grade geography lesson on students? achievement

Programmes that have understanding of student-centered education have characteristics that student is active during the lesson, live-learning is realized, student associates with the student's daily life and teacher conducts the student. Many searches have been carried out on this topic. This study is also an example for these.In this study the effect of the web page designed in soil and plant topics at 10th grade geography lesson on students achievement has been researched. The study has been realized in a group of 60 students 30 of whom selected randomly for the experiment group and 30 of whom for the control group studying in Turkish-Mathematics branch in Kırşehir High School situated in the city center of Kırşehir during 2007-2008 education year. Achievement test developed by the researcher has been used as the data collection tool and the data has been evaluated in the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version 10.0 programme by analyzing. According to the evaluation results; when pre-test- final test scores of the group has been examined, experiment group has been found out as = 7,00, control group as =4,97. Difference average point of the experience group has been determined to be higher than of the control group. In order to understand whether this difference is meaningful or not, analysis of variance has been done for the total points of pre-test and final test. In terms of difference points of pre-final test among the groups, a meaningful difference has been found out in favor of the experiment group.[F(1-59)=5,161, p<0.05].
