Investigate the effects of 12 weeks plyometric training on some motor skills in 11-13 age group female basketball players

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of 12-week plyometric training on some motor skills in 11-13 age group female basketball players. Experimental method was applied in this study. 30 basketball players without any health problems and sports injuries participated in the study voluntarily. The athletes participating in the study were divided into two groups according to the simple random sampling technique. 15 female basketball players participated in the plyometric training group (PAG) (Age: 12±0.53 years, Height: 153.60±2.67 cm, Weight: 45.47±1.77 kg) and the other 15 participated in the basketball training group (BAG) (Age: 11.87±0.52 years, Height: 155.60±1.35 cm, Weight: 45.80±1.78 kg). The PAG group received basketball technical-tactical training 3 days a week and plyometric training 2 days a week. On the other hand, the BAG group received basketball technical-tactical training 3 days a week and strength training 2 days a week. The SPSS program is used in the analysis of the data obtained from the research. The assumption of normality of the data is determined by the Shapiro-Wilk test. The Independent Samples T Test for independent groups and the Paired Samples T Test for dependent groups are used for normally distributed data. In statistical comparisons, the level of significance is accepted as p<0.05. In conclusion; It has been determined that 12-week plyometric training contributes to the development of motoric features such as agility, endurance, speed, flexibility and strength.
