The effect of paint typesto 11-14 ages children's picture

Abstract (EN)

In this research, the effects of paint types to pictures of children which 11-14 aged children in secondary school was researched. For that purpose, it was practiced painting with color pencil, pastel, watercolor and gouache to 5., 6., 7. and 8. grade students. In research, the observation and interview techniques of the qualitative research methods and the quantitative research method was used. The research participants have formed 11-14 aged 100 children who go on 5., 6., 7. and 8. grade in a secondary school in Adana. From the participants it was asked to paint the compsition composed of two pumpkins every week with one of the paint types. At the end of the research, for the visual art lesson painting works, interview form, observation form and evaluation forms' data showed us that most of the students who are aged 12, 13 and 14 prefered color pencil and most of the students aged 11 prefered gouache. At the end of the evaluation of the pictures, the most qualified ones it was seen that for 11-12 aged groups are watercolor, for 13-14 aged groups are gouache paintings. In early ages, the all paint types should be showed and be practiced to children. Thus in practice process, because of that they are experienced in painting process, they will be more well-informed at choosing paint. Keywords: Visual art lesson, children picture, paint types
