Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this thesis is to examine asymmetric aspect of attacks of September 11, 2001 and the legal dimension of intervention of U.S. in Afghanistan on the basis of self defense rights. In this context the results of intervention with the use of force against terrorism in respect of international law are discussed whether strengthening U.S. hegemony or not.In the first part of the study, the concept of terrorism is analyzed. By setting out the terrorism becoming global fact the study is focused on the terrorist attack of September 11. Also, the study deals with the aspect of asymmetric attacks under the last title of the study part.In the second part of study, while the legal dimension of the use of force against terrorism is researched the study examines the rights of use of force and right of self defense in this context.In the third part of the study, we deals with the legal dimension of Afghanistan intervention, the process of intervention, the linkage between Taliban and Al-Qaeda, the international resolutions issued prior to the intervention, the assessment of Operation Enduring Freedom.As a result, the United States? claim concerning the war on the terrorism following the September 11 attacks and its intervention of Afghanistan based on the right of its self defense in the changing world conjuncture in the post Cold War era lead to interfere in the sovereignty of any State claimed by US to support terrorist organizations.
