Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to analyse the relations between the United States of America and Afghanistan. With this purpose, the first part is allotted to the main factors that have influenced the relations between the two sides (geography, corruption, drug trafficking, military interventions) along with the policies conducted by the external actors and the chronology of the relations. Bilateral relations in the post-September 11 period come next, with a particular focus on H. Karzai's political preferences and NATO operations. US presidents' foreign policy strategies precede the conclusion.
