Abstract (EN)
The terrorist attacks of September 11 to three US targets affected the World Politics deeply. Regardless of the reason for these terrorist attacks, their consequences affected many countries directly. Declaring ?war on terrorism? USA utilized the massive effect of the terrorist attacks and got the support of international community then settled in Afghanistan to strike terror in its homeland. But terror spread to Europe including Turkey like and epidemic. Then USA went into Iraq to find WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destructions) with its allies. Developments until this point show the effects of the terrorist attacks to ?World?s Internal Affairs.? But the effect of 9/11 is not limited to aforementioned issues. This has caused significant changes to the understanding of security and intelligence. First it is stated with criticizing the US intelligence agencies and then establishing a new security agency and it is followed with enactment of new laws. After these some European countries also experienced the similar processes. This study proposes that importance of the intelligence against international terrorism is increasing one more time after cold war era. To be able to prove that the study explains the terrorism and intelligence concepts, and examines important terrorist events in Europe after September 11. Finally, priority of intelligence in combating international terrorism was stressed.
