Sivas Judment Register Number 11 (P. 1-60) transcriptions and thought

Judgment (Ahkâm) Registers are the continuation of Complaint Registers from the notebook series which started to be kept in Dîvân-ı Hümâyûn as of 1649. These registers include the copies of the judgements created in consequence of certain complaints stated directly or indirectly to Dîvân-ı Hümâyun by the public and the administrators. Beginning from 1742, Judgement Registers were kept on the state basis. Judgement Registers were prepared for 16 states in total until 1908. There are 36 Judgment Registers belonging to Sivas, one of these states. The main subject of this studyis transcription and evaluation of the first 60 pages of Sivas Judgment Register Number 11. Firstly, the main books kept in Dîvân-ı Hümâyûn have been introduced briefly in the study. In the second chapter, the judgements examined have been evaluated in terms of form and content. The complaints have been classified according to their subjects, complainants, complained and the data obtained as a result of the classification have been shown in the tables. The legal consequences of the judgements have been interpreted. The third chapter the data obtained from the result of the study have been presented by means of the tables. Sivas State, administrative, socio-cultural and economic situation of the sanjaks, the boroughs and the villages in the state, the problems which the public and the administrators confronted; the attitude of the state towards complaints and the solutions it deliveredhave been evaluated. In the fourth chapter, consists of a table showing the summaries of the judgement copies. In the fifth chapter, the transcriptions of the judgement copies have been given.
