Literature course has also rather great importance in Turkey as in many other countries. Literature class; to convey cultural properties, to express aesthetic pleasure, to comprehend what you read and to express your thoughts. In this study, the attitudes of 11th grade students in secondary education to Turkish literature course were examined according to various variables. In this study, correlational survey model was used from quantitative research approaches. This study was conducted in six different school types in the academic year of 2017-2018. The study group consisted of 819 students, 362 male and 456 female students. As a means of collecting data in the study, a Toplam of 27 items of Attitude Scale Towards Turkish Literature Lesson were used, which were developed by Veyis (2015) in terms of interest, importance, avoidance and information. Descriptive statistics, independent samples test, one way ANOVA and Pearson Correlation analysis were used to analyze the obtained data. According to the results obtained from the research, significant statistical differences were found in variables such as gender, school type, book reading frequency, time spent in social media, father reading frequency. On the other hand, there were no significant statistical differences in the number of cultural activities, mother book reading frequency, mother education level, father education level, family monthly income and cultured and environment variables. Besides, it has been determined that there is a low level of relationship between the students' attitudes towards Turkish literature and the academic success of Turkish literature and overall academic achievement. As a result of the research, some suggestions have been made, such as encouraging them to read more books and encouraging students to use social media more consciously in order to improve their attitudes.
