Determination of graft performance of some local grape varieties grafted on 1103 paulsen rootstock

This study was conducted on 1103 Paulsen rootstocks of 10 different local grape varieties (Gozani, Musambık, Meyani, Fireni, Gelin Parmağı, Yuvarlak Tayfi, Küçük Sinceri, Black Emiri, Zeynebi and Cevzane) grown in the Central, Tillo and Şirvan districts of Siirt province in 2022-2023. It was carried out to determine whether the combinations were successful or not. In the research, graft retention rate, graft zone callus development level and rate, graft bud emergence rate, graft bud shoot length and diameter, graft zone root formation rate, graft zone root number and length, weight of the grafted cutting, callus development level and rate in the basal region, root formation rate in the basal region, number and length of roots in the basal region, and decay rate in the basal region criteria were examined. In addition, the diameter of the rootstock in the grafted steel, the diameter of the scion, the diameter of the grafting area and using these values, the coefficient of compatibility was calculated with four different formulas (Perraudine, Branas, Spiegel-Roy and Lavee and Onaran formula). 100% success rate was achieved in all varieties except the Küçük Sinceri grape variety. Decay in the basal zone was not observed in any combination. In terms of affinity coefficient, it was determined that the variety that showed the best compatibility in all four formulas was the Gelin Parmağı variety. This study is the first study on both the production of vineyard saplings in the Siirt region and the determination of the grafting performance of local grape varieties with 1103 Paulsen rootstocks. The outputs obtained from this thesis will form the basis for future studies on this and similar subjects.
