12 Eylül 1980 Darbesi'nin Türk dış siyasetine etkisi

This study aimed to examine the 12 September 1980 coup d'état in detail and to evaluate its impact on the Turkish foreign policy. Therefore, literature review method was utilized in this study. Firstly, the reasons leading to the 12 September 1980 coup d'état were mentioned and then, Turkey's relations with other countries after the 12 September 1980 coup d'état were analyzed. The impact of the 12 September 1980 coup d'état on the political relations between Turkey and other countries was evaluated and the effects and evaluations on Turkey's foreign policy were interpreted and expressed. In this context, evaluations were made by analyzing the newspaper archives and sources of the period. As a result of the research, it was determined that the 12 September 1980 coup d'état had significant effects on Turkish foreign policy. In the post-coup period, Turkey followed a more strict foreign policy, had problems with the Western countries, and adopted a tougher attitude towards the Soviet Union.
