Examination of the relationship between 12th grade students' attitudes towards domestic violence and perceptions of gender

This research was conducted to determine the gender perception and attitudes of 12th grade students, who are the last year of high school, towards domestic violence and to examine whether they have an effect on each other. The results of the research carried out because preventive studies should be carried out against the violence that is frequently seen in our society; It will provide data for preventive guidance studies on domestic violence for high school students or for the preparation of training programs to raise awareness, and will also contribute to the solution of a social problem. The universe of the research consists of all 12th grade students in high school level schools in the central districts of Bursa province in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the sample, a total of 677 students, 418 male and 259 female, studying at different types of high schools in the central districts were taken. The research was carried out with the quantitative research method, and the results of the applied scale were statistically analyzed and evaluated. As a result of the study, it was found that students' attitudes towards domestic violence and gender perception were low, and there was a significant and positive relationship between these attitudes (p< .01).
