Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to what extent today's education methods are successful comparing achievements which gained by Islamic scholars' education and teaching methods in past. In addition searching answer if today's education institutions can bring up scholars who is at dignified level and can contribute to science world. Analyzing problems and finding gaps in the system constitute intent of this research.In the course of this research firstly holy quran and hadiths secondly written works about education and teaching in Islam were examined. Since the dawn of islam attention has been given to especially reading and learning; so education and teaching activities have become indespensable charachteristic of islamic society.Analyzing works written since the first days of the islamic education system it has been seen that the information about decorum, the need of education, training and teaching methods, qualifications to be included in teachers and students has been discussed. İn the light of this information it could be seen that the methods used for many scholars' education were so effective. By examining methods which made islamic scholars successful who scattered light to world with their works, this research provides information to achieve better results in education and teaching progress.
