Theissue of makinguse of Şer'iyyeRegisters, whichgaveimportantinformationabouttheperiodandplacetheybelongedto, is today a major problem. Thissituationmakes it obligatorytodepend on a certainmethodwhilemakinguse of theregisters. Therefora, in thisrespect, it is obigatorytomaketheindex of alltheregistersavailable in Turkey.Thisstudy is aimedto set a patternforthestudiesmade in thisfieldbypresentingandmakingindex of onlyone of theŞer'iyyeRegisterswhich has greatimportanceforTurkishhistoryandculture.Şer'iyeye registries local court records of the Ottoman Empire is no doubt that the most important sources of urban historiography as well as social, cultural and economic history is one of the essential documents. In this study, H.1182-1195 (AD 1768-1780) which contain the dates and page page 96 of the 131 numbered Ayntab transcription and have been evaluated in the Register of Sharia. Documents contained in the register heritage, estate records, credit-to lawsuits, guardian and attorney, alimony claims, field sales, regent determination, grooming and buyuruldu breach was related to such matters. As a result, approximately one and a half centuries of Gaziantep contribution to the understanding of the previous state was achieved. In addition, information about how the Muslim population from the state and social structure.this part are related to the issues like heritage, divorce and demand of Mahr estate records, pecuniary causes, appointment of guardian and a Proxy, claim of alimony, animal burglary, physical injury and massacre. As a consequence, it was tried to determine Gaziantep?s social and economic status nearly one century ago. Furthermore, by collecting information about Muslim and non-Muslim people, information about how the demographic structure was obtained.KeyWords: Kadı, ShariaRegisters, Gaziantep
