136th Cadastral Survey Book, kept in 1584, reveals the socio- economic constitution of Kayseri in the late 16th century. In this study, after the introduction of the Cadastral Survey Book, the historical account of Kayseri is given since the early period until the late 16th century. Districts, sub districts and villages adherent to Kayseri are analysed. These sub districts are; Sahra, Koramaz, Cebel-i Ali, Cebel-i Erciyes, Kenar-ı Irmak, Karakaya, Karataş, Malya, İslamlu, Göstere, Danişmendli. Due to this study, we are informed about the products, tax proceeds, and small factories. In addition, we are as well informed about the occupational groups such as prayer leaders, elocutionists. Agricultural activities and products, taxes paid by the society are analysed in the light of economical life. Cereals as well as fruits and vegetables were produced. Cattle breeding and apiculture also had a great role in economical life as well as mills and linseed oil. Taxes paid by these factories were also analysed. Nomad Turcomen Congregations in the sub districts were analysed and their names, number of households and their tax proceeds were shown in charts. In the light of this information, important data is revealed about the socioeconomic frame of Kayseri in 1584.
