Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of core training on some motoric characteristics and basketball skills applied to male basketball players aged 14-16 years. 22 core training (mean age 15,18 ± 0, 854 years, mean lengths 178,40 ± 7,613 cm, body weight mean 70,50 ± 14,850 kg) and 21 core training basketball players (mean age 14,85 ± 0,727 years, mean height 178,14 ± 8,844 cm, body weight mean 68,952 ± 12,843 kg) were added. A total of 43 players have been completed. Vertical jump, standing long jump, leg force, right and left hand grip strength, 20 m velocity tests were applied to determine the motoric characteristics of the participants. Two-point smash hit test, three-point smash hit test and Harrison dripling test were used to determine basketball skills. In order to determine the effectiveness of Core training, control and experimental group pre-test and final test values were evaluated. MS Excel package program was used for data editing and graphics. SPSS statistics 23 package program was used for statistical analysis of data. In order to determine and reveal the differences in the study statistically, Independent Simples T-test was used at the level of α = 0.05. As a result, no significant difference was found between the core training basketball players and the core values of the core training group (p> 0.05). In terms of basketball skill measurement values, a significant difference was found in favor of the core training group (p <0.05). Keywords: core, velocity, strength, ability, shot
