Ozden, N.B. (2024). The Effect of Eating Habits and Sleep Quality of Adolescents Aged 14-18 on Health Development. Master's Thesis, Istanbul Atlas University Graduate Education Institute, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Istanbul. Adolescence covers an important period in human life where growth and development accelerate and habits are acquired. Nutritional habits acquired during this period have a very important place in adulthood. This study was conducted to determine the effect of nutritional habits and sleep quality on the health development of adolescents aged 14-18. 330 volunteer high school adolescent students studying in two different private schools between 01.11.2023 and 01.03.2023 were included in the study. Demographic characteristics of the volunteers participating in the study were determined by the "Personal Information Form", Adolescent Nutritional Habits by the ABAÖ scale, sleep quality measurement by the PUKİ scale, evaluation of their health development by the Adolescent Health Promotion Scale ADSG and "24-Hour Retrospective Food Consumption Record" to evaluate the nutritional status of the students. Question and answer sessions were recorded by the researcher. 49.7% of the students participating in the study are female and 50.3% are male. When we look at the average age of girls and boys, it is 15.53±1.22 and 15.55±1.13 years, respectively. The average weight and height of boys is 72.05±15.12 kg and 175.92±7.96 cm, and of girls; It is 57.62±10.03 kg and 164.41±6.73 cm. The average BMI was found to be 21.30±3.45 kg/m2 in girls and 23.19±4.01 kg/m2 in boys. When the PUKİ scores of the participants are examined, the total score average of the group is 5.5. In this context, it can be said that the sleep quality of adolescent high school students is poor. It was determined that the total score average of the ABAÖ scale was 118.40±18.15 for female students and 120.64±17.45 for male students. When the mean scores of the adolescents on the ADSG scale were examined according to whether they had been on a diet before or not, a significant relationship was detected between the mean scores of life appreciation, health responsibility, exercise behaviors and ADSG total scores (p=0.010, p=0.005, p=0.013 and p=0.013). 0.024). As a result, it has been found that there is an important relationship between the nutritional habits of adolescents' health Deceleration and sleep quality. These findings show that a balanced diet and adequate sleep quality should be considered together for a healthy development
