Özet (EN)

15th century is an important period not only because of literature but also because of historical developments. In the mentioned century, Ottoman Empire was in a rising period and gained major military and political successes. In the 15th century, places conquered by the Ottoman Sultans became cultural centers. Statesman gave great importance to artists. By dealing with art themselves, many of the Sultans proved that they were sincere in giving importance to art.Showing importance to art and artists caused a rapid development in literature. Divan poetry, first successful samples of which were seen in the 14th century, had a great development in the 15th century. Both the number of artist and also artistic value of the works increased.Number of eulogies in 15th century was much more compared to the previous century. Starting from 15th century, writing eulogy became a tradition. In 16th century, the said trend continued. Eulogies written in Anatolian area were as good as the once written in Persia. Poets who wanted to be protected by the Sultans and Statesman preferred writing eulogies where the Sultans and Statesman were praised (methiyye).Lyric prologue (nesib) section drew much more attention than the section where person was praised. In lyric prologue section, it is possible to see many of the metaphors used in Divan literature. It is very difficult to distinguish verses from verses of a lyric poem. Because of this variety, lyric prologue section of 15th century eulogies worth and extensive study.Ahmed Pasha is the person that can be said to start eulogy tradition. Ahmed Pasha, who wrote majority of the eulogies in those days, had an influence over many artists. Artists wrote poems after his poems (nazire) both during the same century and also in the following century. Eulogy becoming a model for other poems is a proof of its success.
