Homeland nation and independence in south Azerbaijan bard poetry since 15 th century

Dr. Muhsine BÖREKÇİ The present study is concerned with the concepts of nation, motherlond and independence as handled in the Southern Azerbaijan bard poetry that has ever continued since the 15 th century. The study consist of three main chapters. The first chopter is intended to handle the reflection of Turk understanding of motherland on the Southern Azerbaijan bard poetry. The second chopter deals with the influence and traces of Turk understanding of nation on the traditional Southern Azerbaijan bard poetry. The third chapter, however, tackles the Southern Azerbaijan bards understanding of and keenness on independense as reflected in their poems. The way the Southern Azerbaijan Turks esteem the concepts of nation, motherland and independense is presented with the examples from the sources that have been known up to now, including the earliest ones. All these examles explictly show the hign sensitivity and sincene addiction of the Southern Azerbaijan Turk, as the other Turkish tribes, to those subjects and volues. The study has a bibliographical part at the end, including the works that have been primorily used for the study at hand. Morever, a short dictinory is attached to give the words that are used in the Southern Azerbaijan Turkish but not in today's Turkish or used to stand for different meanings.
