Ruus Book number 1527 (1062-1065 / 1652-1655) analysis and text

The subject of this study is the text, analysis and transcription of the Ruûs book numbered 1527 (1062-1065/1652-1655). The notebook covers the appointment, dismissal and payments of the people in the palace between 1652 and 1655, as well as the records and various decisions about the new Muslims. In addition to the people who take part in the duties such as sergeant, gunner, military officer, gunman, keeper, janitor, sipahi and many other officials working in the palace, such as cooks, gardeners, laundresses, tinsmiths, bakers, bakers, helva makers, cellars, warehouse keepers, kitchen workers, çaşnigirans, yogurt makers. In addition, information about retired, deceased, newly converted Muslims and the wages, appointments and suppliers of all these officials are also included. The aim of the study, as it is known, Ruûs notebooks, which are one of the sources of Ottoman historical studies, provide important information to help researchers in illuminating many administrative, political, economic and socio-cultural areas of the state. For this reason, the interest in notebooks is increasing day by day. However, the studies have not reached a sufficient level yet. At this point, we preferred to contribute to the existing literature on the Ruûs notebooks. In this direction, the selected transcription and analysis study of the Ruûs book numbered 1527 (1062-1065/1652- 1655), registered in the fund code of the Presidency of the State Archives of the Republic of Turkey (BOA), Bâb-ı Âsafî Ruûs Kalemi Notebooks (A.RSK.d.) has been made.
