Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of two different strength training programs on 17?19 years old top level male field hockey players by using physical, physiological and technical parameters. The search made on 36 healthy male hockey players. (Explosive power group composed of 12 players, strength endurance group composed of 12 players, control group 12 players.). Strength and technical training were applied on explosive power group and strength endurance group for 3 days in a week along 8 weeks. Only technical training was applied on control group. Statistical analysis evaluated by using SPSS For Windows 15 pocket program. The weight and height of the groups, their heart beat and blood pressure , body compositions, isokinetic and doppler ecocardiography parameters were taken into account. The vertical jump and anaerobic power , 30 m sprint ,20 m shuttle run, flexibility and aerobic power parameters were taken into account of the motor spor tests. Slalom SDT test and shooting test specific to hockey were applied. In comparing the pre-test and post-test of subject group, variables in group, it was explored that the results are at 0.01 and 0.05 significance level. As a result, a difference (p<0,01 ,0,05) on physical , physiological and technical parameters in explosive power and strength endurance groups has been observed when compared to the groups which only make technical training and it has been noticed that this kind of strength training is an appropriate training model that can be applied to the hockey players who are on preparation period.
