The 17th century of Holland and Rembrandt

In this thesis, information about the 17th century Dutch and Flemish culture and geography is set out, and the way that art works in that context, the attitudes of the artists, the structure of the market and the value of art work have been investigated. How the Netherlands differs from other European countries, and how it has turned into a welfare society has been examined. The techniques used by Rembrandt in his oil painting, drawing and engraving works in the developing a golden ages of the Dutch lands has been examined in terms of how he used different artistic methods and shapes to express his thoughts and feelings.
