Abstract (EN)
This thesis is a study of Sharia (Islamic Judicial Courts) records which is the primary source for the research on the issues like Ottoman law, Sharia Courts and Judge institution. In this thesis, the transcription study of Numbered 171 of the Kastamonu Sharia records was done. It is aimed to obtain social, cultural, communal, legal, administrative and economic information from court records and documents which are included in the Sharia records. Hence, the main aim of the study is to serve on the researchers of these issues. It has been tried to transcribe the numbered 171 Sharia records in the most accurate way and have been written in this thesis in a way that is away from the confusion by creating a clear order. In the final part of the study, a general frame is created by using these documents and the experience which is gained during the translation phase of teh records is shared in details.
