Assessment of Preconception Care Attitudes in Women Between the Ages Of 18-49 Objective: It is aimed to investigate the preconception care knowledge levels, preconception care rates, factors affecting preconception care, and the effects of preconception care on some pregnancy outcomes in women aged 18-49 who applied to Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine Family Medicine Polyclinics for any reason. Methods: Our descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted by faceto- face interview through a questionnaire set. In the study, chi-square X2) analysis, independent sample t test and Anova test were used to compare the demographic and birth characteristics of the groups who received and did not receive preconception care and their variables. X2 analysis was used for the purpose of comparing the preconception counseling status according to the level of knowledge, the desire to receive counseling before pregnancy, the patient's desire to receive counseling and the rates of counseling. In the study, p values less than 0.05 were considered statistically significant. Analyzes were made with SPSS 22.0 package program. Findings: 285 people participated in the study. The average age of the participants is 34.69±7.70, 41.8% have university level education, 51.5% work in an income-generating job, 81.1% spend their longest life in urban centers, 8,4% It was determined that married relatives and 42.5% had low income. 88.8% of the participants stated that they had heard about the concept of preconception care and counseling before, 51.2% wanted to get preconception care, 11% had received preconception care service. Participants stated that they want to get preconception counseling from family physicians with 37.7%, obstetricians with 72.2%, midwives with 19.4%, internet sources with 8.3%, and television, newspaper, magazine with 5.2%. they have. 78.6% of the participants stated that they want to get information about risk factors for pregnancy and birth. Conclusions: In our study, it was concluded that women did not receive enough preconception care. It is necessary to raise awareness of all physicians and the society, especially family physicians, about preconception care, which is a primary care service. There is a great need for studies and projects that will bring the deficiencies related to this issue to the agenda of family physicians, who have priority interlocutors in providing preconception care to every woman of childbearing age. Participants reported that they wanted to take preconception care with a pregnancy rate of 47.6%.
