Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to introduce the Turkish Dynasty named Qajar which has ruled in Iran between 18 and 19th centuries, their clothing culture based on their government of the 18th century and to adapt their apparel to modern fashion. The reason for choosing this subject is to revive the old and the local culture. According to this point at first, the Iranian dynasties, their civilizations and the branches of the art that developed throughout the history are described briefly. These branches which were the interest area of just about 30 dynasties include textile, painting, calligraphy, poetry, poem, and as the country owned rich sources of precious stones , the produce of metal products and accessories were popular there. After describing clothing culture in each dynasty in a concise way, the Qajar dynasty which is the subject of this research, is introduced and their textile, culture , political perspective and more importantly their art visions are identified. After these explanations, the works of foreign designers about Qajar dynasty are explained. Finally, the modern fashion designs by using practical methods and fabric paintings applied to man and woman's apparels are prepared. This thesis has provided information about Iran's art and more importantly the culture of Iranian clothing since the existence of this country and helps to create new ideas in fashion design world. The sources of this research were : the books about the history of Iran, the art and clothing history of Iran, travel books written by tourists and foreign diplomats who travelled to Iran in recent years, museums and ancient artifacts.
