Sharia registers contain important information in many fields such as military, legal, economic, religious and administrative institutions of the Ottoman Empire. Fort his reason, the şer'iyye registers, which contain important data about historıcal researches and the social life of the region, are in the position of primary sources. Names of towns, villages and neighborhoods in the sharia registers, which have an important place for city historians; commercial, criminal and all kinds of legal decisions: all the details about the livelihood, economic and social life of the people are widely included in these books. The Besni Şer'iyye Registry numbered 182, which was transcribed and evaluated, has 120 pages; it covers the years (R.1317-1323 / M.1901-1907). In addition there is a an estate record dated 30 Teşrin-i Sani 1337 (M.30 December 1921), which is thought to have been added to the book from another book. The documents generally consist of cases such as marriage-divorce, alimony, inheritance, receivables, debt collection, unfair extortion, theft, sale of property and marriage contract. Therefore, with the transcription and evaluation of the Besni Şer'iyye Registry No. 182, concrete information on the political, social, economic, administrative, financial and legal situation of Besni between the years (R.1317-1323 / M.1901-1907) has been obtained.
