Abstract (EN)

The Hamid Sanjak had a lot of active movements and had leaderships to different civilizations. At the end of the excavations done in the area, some ruins belonging to the upper Paleolitic, Mezolitic and Neolitic periods were discovered. The area was once under the sovereignty of the phoenicia, Lidya and Persia. After Turks settled down in this area, the area was copipletely under their influence and as a result of this, mosques, mesjits, caravanserais and medressehs were constructed. After the domination of the Ottomans, the area was called as the Hamid Sanjak or the Hamid City. During the Otoman period, there were 16 towns, 28 districts and 12 villages.
