Fahriye in 19th century odes

The 19th century was the final century of classical Turkish literature. Poets of the period demonstrated their artistry through various verse forms, including the ode, the stanza, the masnavi, and the ghazal. The fahriye section, particularly within the ode, served as a valuable tool for poets to showcase their personalities, poetry, and talents. Various expectations lay behind the poets' praise of their praised subjects. To fulfill these expectations, poets sought to prove their worthiness by praising their personalities, poetry, and poetic talents. The subject of this thesis is a detailed examination of the fahriye section in 19th-century qasidas. This study examines the poets' personalities, poetic styles, and poems, examining their poems for their beauty of meaning, idea, tone, and style. In the fahriye section, poets frequently compared themselves to other poets; as a result, the poet sometimes considered himself superior, criticizing other poets, and sometimes accepting the poets he criticized as masters and considering himself a follower. This is explored in the thesis through the poet's comparisons with Turkish, Arab, Persian, and other poets, without naming them.
