Small-scale handmade or simple-tools and state-controlled manufacturing held by the middle of the 15th century in the Ottomans was started to change by the 19th century and converted into the machined production gradually. The state-owned Ottoman Imperial Factories, which were founded to cover the army?s needs, which were rising and becoming varied increasingly because of its changing structure, as well as the palace?s needs, were mostly located in Istanbul as well as in the other parts of the Anatolia in limited numbers.Based on the knowledge and documents of the period, it is aimed to make the conceptual and architectural definitions of the Ottoman Imperial Factories, to expose the goal of their formation and their management style; to demonstrate their place within the manufacturing structure, style and understanding among the Ottoman Architectural History.When the obtained data were evaluated during the research, it was exposed that the Ottoman Imperial Factories were the machined continuation of Craftsmen?s Organization which was founded to serve to the army and the palace before the 19th century and serving towards renewed state?s unit.
