Development of historical fiction in the modern Greek literature of 19th century and historical novel samples from the 20th century

This study aims to bring an extensive point of view over historical fiction form by the help of connections between history and the literature. While elaborating the birth and development of historical fiction form in the 19th century Modern Greek Literature, it is tried to provide general information over the historical background on the fictions studied. Afterwards, examples from 20th century fictions -which are very productive in this frame- are discussed. Providing a general information over the historical fiction form in Modern Greek Literature which has limited number of reseraches about, preliminary examples both from West and Greece has been discussed. Additionally, the general frame is completed by discussing the fiction examples which shed light on the historical periods studied.
