Abstract (EN)

In this study, 12 stringed-instrument reed pieces composed in different modes belonging to 19. Century reed flute players are analyzed in terms of modes. In this context, mode characteristics of pieces, passing and forms are determined and indicated in the basis of staff and meter taking general features of Turkish music into consideration. Therefore, mode and style characteristics of analyzed pieces, composition sides of the composers and the impacts of developments in the century of that time on the pieces are determined and concluded. Moreover, the general characteristics of Turkish Music in the 19th century, information regarding the impacts of the sultans on Turkish music, music education institutions, interactions between Western music and Turkish music are provided. Following that, biographies of reed flute composers in the 19th century are provided.
