Abstract (EN)
Our study that we discussed the development of memoir-type in TurkishLiterature is delimited within years of 1918 and 1928.Memoir-type that became an independent type after Tanzimat (administrativereform) is compared with literature types that have similarities with memoir-type.Similarities and differences of memoir-type with other literature types are remarked.Politicians and commanders that hold important positions in government andattended World War I published books which they expressed their emotions and pointof views with an subjective manner.The Armenian events left its mark on memoirs of that period cause severaldiscussions nowadays. These memoirs that express agony days are important notonly for literature, but also for history. Moreover, the difficulties that Ottoman Empirehad to fight are proved with documents by using memoirs written by commanders. Inorder to justify the books written by soldiers, official documents, personal letters,maps, lists are used comprehensively.The maps that we used are diplomatic and military maps. Only two bookswritten by Ahmet Rasim gives information about different events in our literature,events occur in young life and private life.In our study, memoirs that had been published as books between 1918 and1928 are determined and evaluated.
