After the World War II, the period when the transition from a single-party rule to a multi-party system started and ended with the May 27, 1960 coup is discussed. In this study, which we examine as the history of a city, the developments between 1946 and 1960, which constitute the main theme of our thesis, are evaluated. It was emphasized that the city of Sinop could not create a cosmopolitan society due to factors such as the geographical conditions that can only be overcome with today's technological tools and the undeveloped industry. The city of Sinop, which has the feature of having the only natural harbor of the Black Sea region, has become a center of attraction with the commercial activities that started in its natural harbor Akliman. Sinop has been dominated by many civilizations from the Kaskas to the Hittites, from the Persians to the Roman Empire. The city of Sinop, which was captured by Muslim Turks for the first time during the Anatolian Seljuk period, has remained under the domination of Muslim Turks until today, apart from short-term losses. The region, which faded after the Sinop Raid in 1853, was the last stop of the Bandırma ferry from Samsun at the beginning of the National Struggle. Dr. Personalities such as Rıza Nur, Yusuf Kemal Tengirşenk and Selver Somuncuoğlu who held important political positions after and after the National Struggle, and people who made a name in the literary world such as Ahmet Muhip Dıranas represented the city of Sinop. We will examine the deputies, governors and mayors who served in the historical ranges, and their activities in their own periods, the Sinop and Gerze fires, which are bad memories for the city of Sinop.
