Poster research in Atif Yilmaz films from 1950?s to 2000"

Posters, not only graphical communication items but also instruments of the cultural representations, were advocated in this thesis called ?Poster Research in Atıf Yılmaz Films from 1950?s to 2000. The thesis was asserted that social realities were recreated in graphical images by movie posters which are the main research in the thesis. In this context, the thesis is constituted in 4 chapters. First, Poster Art and its development were investigated, and then the definition of art and its progress in Turkey and international community are conceptualized in the first chapter. Influences of Aesthetic components like composition, color and typography which formalized Poster were explained in the study. Types of posters were also categorized in first part. Posters in the cultural films and their developments, forms and thematic characteristics were analyzed in the second chapter. History of Turkish Cinema and Atıf Yılmaz?s films and his mission were briefly viewed in the third chapter. Posters of the films that directed by Atıf Yılmaz from 1950 to 2000 were analyzed in the last chapter. As a result of the analysis, relations between representations as an indicator of the social life manners and the movie posters has been shown.
