Abstract (EN)
In this study, the issues of Hayat magazine, which started its publication life in 1956, and published until 1965, are discussed. Hayat magazine, which had a very high circulation at the time it was published, contains important data in terms of reflecting both the changing social position of women and the transforming social life of Turkey. The political and cultural change experienced in Turkey with the 1950s is discussed in the context of Hayat magazine. The fact that Hayat magazine is Turkey's first current magazine and its publication with a new printing method (tifdruk) has made it one step ahead of other magazines. By examining the issues of Hayat magazine from 1956 to 1965, the magazine press of this period, the attitude of Hayat magazine towards women and the reflections of the social and cultural change experienced in Turkey of this period on the magazine were analyzed.
