Abstract (EN)
The study explored the impact of economic, legal, political and institutional determinants on the collective bargaining agreements made at the workplaces of Tüpraş, Petkim and TPAO companies, which are the major industrial enterprises operating in the Turkish petrochemical industry. Changes in the normative provisions of collective bargaining agreements are investigated in the light of determinants such as legal regulations, economic crises, political environment, privatization practices and strike bans. Two methods were used within the scope of the study: the data analysis obtained from the literature review and analysis of 62 collective bargaining agreements established by Petrol-İş Union between 1970-2021 at Tüpraş, Petkim and TPAO workplaces. As a result, it was concluded that majority of the normative provisions of the analyzed collective bargaining agreements were amended not in favor of the worker.
