Abstract (EN)

In this work we refered to the novel "İstanbul Algısı" published between 1980 and 1981. Rhe perception we refered here, is the evalution of how the author saw and interpreted the city used as a place. Istanbul became the capital of two great Emperors, it is a city consisting of political,religious, cultural, social and a plenty of elements. Istanbul has a wide statue as a historical, cultural, social and we limited to the novels published between 1980 and 1981. A lot of changes occured in Turkey as both political and social after The Declaration of Republic. Particularly after 1950s years Istanbul became "megan village" with the internal migration, therefore a plenty of cultural elements and architectural building created by Ottoman Empire now from Ottoman Classical Period degenerated. We tried to express the changes about İstanbul's landscapes, cultural, social and political structure between 1980 and 1981. We tried to interprete how the author and the caharacters evaluted the city. By evaluting it, we utilized the places which influence on human's psychology. Istanbul is a city affecting the characters with both natural beauties and social life. The city's indoor places; recreational areas, parks, and outdoor places; villas, flats, slums changed the characters' viewpoint on the city.
