Experimentation in typographic posters after 1980

Typography has generated new tendencies, research, and accepted rules since the beginning of the twentieth century. Accepted typographic rules were continued in typographic posters after 1980 with different materials, techniques, or mixed techniques by experimental attitudes. This thesis answers the question, ''What is experimentality in typographic posters after 1980?'' The study describes the concept of experimental thought in the twentieth century and the changes that have occurred in the field of typography. It examines how typography is used as one of the fundamental elements in graphic design and its role in communication. The following section explains the rules of experimental typography in graphic design. The final section examines the idea of experimentality, with a focus on selected artists in the post-1980 experimental typographic posters. This examination attempts to be conducted from the perspective of artists' views, techniques used, and rules regarding experimental typography. Through research and analysis, it has been observed that the importance of typography and experimental typography in graphic design has increased and that this field is continuously evolving in an innovative manner. Throughout the thesis, this topic has been illustrated with visual examples. The findings indicate that the significance of experimental typography is growing, and this area is continuously developing in innovative and creative ways. The thesis aims to reach a comprehensive conclusion, enriched and clarified with visual examples related to the topic.
