Election and duties of the president according to the 1982 Constitution

Aim of the study is; evaluation of the arrangements about the election of President in 1982 Constitution. Around this subject, the changes in 2007 Constitutional amendment are compared with the former state and the discussions about the changes brought with it are given. In this context, the process, starting with the election of Eleventh President, which resulted in significant changes on Turkey?s political order and that happened after this process; primarily ?367 judgment? of the Supreme Court are examined. Additionally, legal dimensions of the tenseness? that happened between legislative, executive and juridicial agencies, the points that constitutional legists could not have consensus, the system discussions brought by 2007 constitutional change decided by plebiscite, and finally the duties, the authorities and responsibilities of the President, are mentioned
