Analysis the financial and economic performans of ISO 500 firms in the period 1993-2011 and the role with importance of Turkey economy

In this study, the companies which are in İSO top 500 list between 1993 and 2009 years are analysed. The top 500 companies has been classified such as manufacturing industry subsectors, public, private and foreign capital shares in respect of companies? results which are announced by İSO. In addition firms? results and economical performance has been compared. In this study, also the book which is issued by İstanbul Chamber Of İndustry and called ?The Biggest Industrial Instution? has been used. Data set has been taken from a survey which was done by İSO between 1993-2011 years and consist of ; sales, sales revenue, export, assets total, equity capital, pre-tax profit-loss, employment, local-foreign capital share and gross added value. By the study results, it has been investigated the importance of İSO 500 firms in Turkey?s economic transformation period between 1993 and 2011 years. If we consider İSO 500 firms? contributions in Turkey?s economy such as national income and export, the economical and financial development of İSO 500 firms? will be a reference to observe Turkey?s economical devolpment over years. Analysis by the sector and the importance of those sectors in Turkey?s economy of İSO 500 firms? will contribute to determination of Turkey?s advantage in international economy and the sectors which needs support.
