Abstract (EN)

Aim The aim of this study is to make a bibliometric analysis of the studies on post activation potential and sport between 1998-2022. Material and Method In this study, in which a systematic research model was adopted to understand interdisciplinary collaboration, publication performance, research effectiveness, scientific trends and other scientific relationships, bibliometric analyzes of the studies found in the Web of Science (WoS) database using post activation potential (PAP) and sports keywords were made. Bibliometric research is a method that provides analysis using the numerical data of academic publications. The data obtained as a result of these analyzes are important in terms of shedding light on the next studies by making evaluations about the subject in the academic field. Bibliometric analysis can be evaluated for purposes such as monitoring scientific research and innovation, examining interdisciplinary studies, evaluating research effectiveness and performance, analysis of research collaboration, and directed research planning. The research data consists of studies related to the key concepts of post-activation potential and sports published in different publications between 1998-2022 in the WoS database. In this study, the studies obtained through databases; sources, authors, documents, conceptual structure, intellectual structure and social structures were examined. The most important data sources in bibliometric studies are international citation indexes such as Science Citation Index (SCI), Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) and Art & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI). In this context, research was carried out on the WoS database, since it is one of the databases that provides access to these indexes and the bibliometric analysis system run through the R-Studio program is also compatible with this database. Findings Between 1998 and 2022, 327 documents published using the keywords postactivation potential and sport were found in the WoS database. Of these 327 documents, 5790 are cited. With 51 studies on PAP, 2020 was the year in which the most studies were conducted. The 5 most influential authors are "Krzysztofik M.", "Behm DG.", "Boullosad", "Wilk M." and "Zajac A." They published in the "Internatonal Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance, Journal of Sport Sciences, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and Journal of Human Kinetics" with the words "Power, Warm-up and Postactivation Potentiation" that they use most. With 57 publications, "Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research" is the journal with the most publications in the field. "J Strength Cond Res." The number of bibliographies of the studies on PAP published in the journal was analyzed as 4094. The most cited document is the article published in the Journal of Suchomel TJ, 2016, Sports Med-a, with a total of 437 citations and an annual citation rate of 54.63%. The most repeated word in the field is post-activation potentiation, which is repeated 172 times. Conclusion The results of the analysis can guide new studies to understand the post-activation potential and sports researchers and studies in the field from a wide perspective, and to understand the trends in the authors, journals, countries, universities and the subject.
