Synthesis and characterization of zinc phthalocyanines containing 2-hydroxy-6-methoxyisonicotinic acid

Abstract (EN)

Phthalocyanine, which we can see in many areas in terms of its chemical stability and structural properties, has some disadvantages such as its low solubility in water. This feature restricts its use in the biological and medical field. It is sufficient to bind hydrophilic substituents to phthalocyanine (peripheral or non-peripheral parts), which have a hydrophobic property in order to eliminate it. In the first step of this study, Methyl 2-Hydroxy-6-Methoxyisonicotinate was synthesized. In the second step, 3-nitrophthalonitrile, 4-nitrophthalonitrile and 4,5-dichlorophthalonitrile were synthesized. It was respectively affected by Methyl 2-Hydroxy-6-methoxyisonicotinate synthesized in the first step and phthalonitriles obtained in the second step. The result of the interaction, respectively, Methyl 2-(2,3-dicyanophenoxy)-6-Methoxyisonicotinate, Methyl 2-(3,4-dicyanophenoxy)-6-Methoxyisonicotinate, Methyl 2-(2-Chloro-4,5-dicyanophenoxy)-6-Methoxyisonicotinate materials were obtained. These initial substances obtained were reacted with zincacetetate and quinoline and cyclotetramerization was carried out to form phthalocyanines. Zinc Phthalocyanines containing Methyl 2-Hydroxy-6-Methoxyisonicotinate in the Peripheral Position, Zinc Phthalocyanine containing Methyl 2-Hydroxy-6-Methoxyisonicotinate in the Nonperipheral Position, Chlorine and Methyl 2-Hydroxy-6-Methoxyisonicotinate in the Peripheral Position were obtained. The obtained phthalocyanines were affected by LiOH solution. The obtained phthalocyanines are characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and UV-Vis spectra.
